YIIP serves youth ages 11 to 17 who have been in the court system for delinquency and youth violence (extreme offenses not included). A therapeutic approach, instead of traditional court services, is used to reduce aggression and improve clients’ communication and social skills. Adolescents and their guardians must participate in all YIIP services. The program is a collaboration between Middlesex County and the state Division of Child Behavioral Health Services.
